Paras suffers heart attack
KATHMANDU, FEB 20 -Former Crown Prince Paras Shah suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the Samitiveg Hospital in Bangkok on Tuesday night.
Deputy chief of the Nepali mission in Thailand Dornath Aryal said Shah’s condition was described by one of his aides as ‘a little bit okay.’ In September 2007 too, the now 42-year-old Paras was rushed to the Norvic hospital in Kathmandu after he suffered a mild heart attack . Local non-resident Nepali leader Sunil Khadka telephoned Aryal at around 9:45pm Nepali time, saying that Shah had suffered a heart attack .
“I told Khadka that we were ready to provide any kind of help,” Aryal told the Post from Bangkok. He said Shah’s condition was relayed to his family members in Nepal. The former royals, including former king Gyanendra, are in Simara, Bara to celebrate former queen Komal’s birthday. An aide to the former king, Phadiraj Pathak, told the Post that he came to know of the matter through television and was trying to contact the family.
Last November, Shah was arrested in Thailand in possession of 3.4 gram of marijuana. He was released on bail, but rearrested on charges of vandalising an apartment he rented.
