Major party leaders meet CJ Regmi

 

KATHMANDU, FEB 20 - The leaders of the four parties have reached the official residence of the prime minister at Baluwatar in the Capital to hold talks with Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi .

The leaders had decided to hold a talk with Regmi after he pronounced his dissatisfaction on some of the points as decided by the major parties for forming an election government under his leadership.

Regmi was dissatisfied with the clause that the election government under his leadership would automatically be scrapped if it fails to hold the election by mid-June. According to sources, the leaders are ready to extend the tenure of Regmi's government even if for some reason it cannot hold the elections by mid-June.

UPCN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar (representing Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha) have reached Baluwatar to placate Regmi.

During the meeting, Regmi has hinted that he wants the liberty to choose the people he thinks capable for the work without any external interference if he is to lead the election government .
